How we handle your data on the Creative Evaluation Methods Matchmaker website
Who We Are
This website is a project led and controlled by Dr Ruth Flanagan (Queen’s University Belfast). It was funded by Queen’s University Belfast’s Civic Contribution Fund.
The data controller for this website is Queen’s University Belfast. For any questions about how your data is handled, you can contact the university’s Data Protection Officer at [INSERT QUB DPO EMAIL].
What Data We Collect
When you use this website, we may collect the following information:
- Methods Matchmaker Quiz: Your answers to the quiz questions. These are used to generate your results and are stored as form entries. No personal identifying information is collected through the quiz itself.
- Feedback Form: If you choose to complete the optional feedback form, we may collect your responses, and if you provide them, your name and email address.
- Website Analytics: We may collect anonymised data about how you use the website, such as which pages you visit and how long you spend on them. This helps us improve the site.
Why We Collect Your Data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- Quiz answers: To match you with relevant creative evaluation methods. Your answers are also stored to help us understand how the tool is being used and to improve it over time.
- Feedback responses: To evaluate and improve the Matchmaker tool based on your experience.
- Name and email: Only collected if you volunteer them, and only used to follow up about your feedback or to discuss adding your project to our methods archive.
The legal basis for processing your data is consent. You actively choose to submit the quiz and feedback form, and you are asked to give consent before providing any personal information.
How We Store Your Data
Your data is stored securely within this website’s WordPress database, which is hosted by [SiteGround]. Access to the data is restricted to the project team (Dr Ruth Flanagan).
We will retain your data for the duration of the project. After the project concludes, any personal data (names and emails) will be securely deleted unless you have given separate consent for it to be retained.
Who We Share Your Data With
We do not share your personal data with any third parties. Your data is only accessible to the project team. Anonymised, aggregated data (e.g., “75% of users found the tool useful”) may be used in reports, publications, or presentations about the project, but no individual will be identifiable.
Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Delete your data (the right to be forgotten)
- Withdraw consent at any time
- Object to how your data is being used
